We all want to cut back on our waste, whether it is solid waste for the landfill or gaseous fumes poluting our atmosphere, but being Green shouldn't mean we are all living in abject poverty. This once great island is sitting on a wealth of natural resources that were once used to propel us to the world leader we were.

Whether it's stupidity or naivety (I'll let you decide) our politicians - who are meant to be working for all of us - are more concerned with optics than they are prosperity for the nation.
