Due to the weakness and greed of our politicians our armed services are at the weakest they've ever been for centuries. They've been underfunded to the point where the numbers of our standing army would struggle to fill a large village. We are weak as a nation, and we are weak on the world stage. This can not continue for our own security, and that of our overseas dependent states.

We at the UK Unionist Party would ensure our armed forces have the numbers they need - whether that is boots on the ground or funds to develop advanced weapons and equipment. Our armed forces need to be where they once were - the best in the world.

To achieve this we will introduce National Service once again. As a benefit for completing at least two years all personnel will be given reduced mortgage and loan interest rates, priority housing and medical treatments, and the offer of a career in government. For those who wish to extend their time in service then additional benefits will be awarded.
